Dr. Huang received a B.Eng. from Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2011, and obtained his Ph.D. from Tsinghua University in 2016. In the summer of 2017, he joined Dr. Haiqing Lin’s group at UB as a postdoctoral researcher with a focus on developing polymers and 2D materials for membrane applications. He has published 28 research articles on graphene and polymer for membrane gas separation and water purification.

The NAMS Young Membrane Scientist Award was created by the North American Membrane Society, which is the leading professional society in North America that promotes all aspects of membrane science and technology. Each year three outstanding individuals with professional careers in membrane science and technology that recently obtained a PhD degree are selected for the award. Dr. Huang will attend the May 2019 NAMS Meeting in Pittsburgh and will deliver an oral presentation during a special award session.
