Research Interests

My research primarily focuses on developing exact solution approaches for solving combinatorial optimization problems arising from various domains. I am a problem-driven researcher interested in studying issues from theoretical and practical perspectives. My expertise in different methodological aspects of mathematical modeling and optimization has allowed me to maintain a diverse pool of applications on which I often conduct research. In recent years, I have become particularly interested in tackling multidisciplinary problems with a high societal impact that require the expertise of researchers from different fields.

My most significant research contributions have led to a better understanding of the intrinsic properties of several optimization problems. Notable results include developments in polyhedral analysis, parameterized algorithms, and decomposition schemes for solving complex mathematical programs. Additionally, from a practical perspective, my research has produced computational tools to support the decision-making process of multiple stakeholders in several industrial applications.

The main topics of most of my publications are, in one way or another, aligned with at least one of three broad overarching areas: (1) Network Analysis and Optimization, (2) Multilevel Optimization, and (3) Prescriptive Analytics.
