Cleveland Public Power lacks transparency in outage reports

WEWS-TV in Cleveland quoted industrial engineer Sayanti Mukherjee in a story about a city-owned power company that experts say could do a better job in reporting on power outages.

An assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mukherjee said the utility’s reports look incomplete and that customers can expect increased stress on the energy grid due to climate change.

“There will be times when the inadequacies will lead to more blackouts, more rolling outages to balance the supply and demand," she said.
