Can you trust Twitter in a crisis? The vast majority of users retweet rumours without question

CBC Radio program Spark interviewed Jun Zhuang, associate professor of industrial and systems engineering, regarding his research which examines how Twitter users spread false information during disasters.

“The majority of users just do nothing, and it seems kind of unacceptable to us,” Zhuang said, when discussing how people who retweet false information aren’t likely to post corrections on the social media platform.
