PhD alumna Gina Galindo has been selected as a finalist for the 2014 INFORMS Section on Location Analyis (SOLA)-Air Products Dissertation Award. This award will be presented at the INFORMS 2014 annual meeting in San Francisco, at the SOLA business meeting. 
Catholic Medical Partners has promoted Dapeng Cao from senior healthcare analyst to manager of health care analytics. He will take on an expanded role to include analytics and reporting for the New York State Delivery System Reform Incentive Program initiative.
Valerie Beecher, who received an MS in Human Factors in 2002, was recently featured in the NYSUT newspaper, as part of a NYS wide task force on safe patient handling practices.
UB Alumni Ravi Ravi Goonetilleke, and Sara Czaja as well as ISE Professor and Chair Ann Bisantz (also a UB Alum) received awards at the Annual Meeting of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.  
From the National Academies: Robert Graves, John H. Krehbiel Sr. Professor for Emerging Technologies at the Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth, UB IE PhD 1974; MS 1969 has received with his colleagues the Bernard M. Gordon Prize for Innovation in Engineering and Technology Education — a $500,000 award presented annually that recognizes innovation in engineering and technology education.
