Oyinkansola Akintan, BS '11

Senior Operations Analyst for Gabriel & Co. NY

Oyinkansola Akintan was born in Nigeria, is British by citizenship, was raised in Maryland, and currently lives in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Although Oyinkansola had a knack for mathematics and sciences as a child, growing up in a family of creatives served as a catalyst for an appreciation for the arts and drove her desire to choose an academic major and career that would allow a tie-in to both sides of the spectrum and make an impact in the creative industry, which is how she discovered industrial engineering.

Her educational background includes a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University at Buffalo (2011), and an MS in Industrial Engineering, specializing in Operational Analysis from New York University Tandon School of Engineering (2012). To date, she has worked as an industrial engineer in both the fashion and home décor industries, and is currently a Senior Operations Analyst for Gabriel & Co. NY, a fine jewelry designer and manufacturer.

Oyinkansola's enthusiasm for quality products and efficient processes drives her goal to apply industrial engineering methodologies to design and implement systems and processes that improve the efficiency in the manufacturing of products and general business operations.
