We pursue integrative research and offer graduate training at
the frontiers of chemical engineering in three main areas:
nanoscale science and engineering, computational science and
engineering, and biochemical and biomedical engineering.
In a continuing effort to promote interdisciplinary research,
and foster relationships with government and industry to grow the
Western New York economy, the University at Buffalo is making some
of the region’s most advanced science and engineering
equipment, and cutting edge research facilities, available for
Pinar Okumus, assistant professor in UB’s Civil Structural
and Environmental Engineering Department, has been named a 2016
Outstanding Reviewer award from the American Society of Civil
Michel Bruneau, a professor in the Department of Civil,
Structural and Environmental Engineering, was honored along with
his co-authors with the 2017 Moisseiff Award from the American
Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
