Volunteer with Science is Elementary

Help us share the fun of science, math and engineering with children in our community. Consider becoming a Science is Elementary Program volunteer!

SEAS students working with kids at Westminster.

What do volunteers do?

Volunteers will lead students through hands on STEM activities at Westminster Charter School, just a few minutes from South Campus. Lesson plans and materials are prepared by Science is Elementary staff ahead of time. There are generally three volunteers per classroom of 20 students and training is provided for new volunteers.

No experience necessary.

New volunteers will participate in a 50-minute training seminar in which they will learn how to conduct the simple experiments that they will then perform at Westminster Community Charter School later in the week with children ranging from Kindergarten through fifth grade.
