Want to make a video game? A music video? A cartoon? Bring your imagination to life utilizing Scratch coding at a UB Blossom Summer Camp, coordinated by Blossom Scholastic.
These weeklong experiences for 8-12 year olds girls create a special community of fun and learning. Utilizing the technology of the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B, students learn how to set up their very own computer and Linux operating system at coding camp. From there, they're introduced to the world of open-source software and Scratch- a programming language specifically geared towards their age group.
We teach girls how to think like a programmer in an intuitive, kid-friendly way. Campers go home with:
The program typically costs $399 to cover all costs for the week. Visit the Blossom Scholastic website for specific details.
Blossom believes that every girl, regardless of income, should be able to pursue her passion for science, technology, engineering and math.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, Blossom Summer Camps have been canceled for Summer 2020. Please check back next year.
