An article reports UB’s Mathletes are one of six teams competing in Sunday’s two-hour finale of the reality show, “Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge,” airing at 9 p.m. on NBC. Biomedical engineering student Zoe Herrick is part of the team.

The article notes that an NBC release said they are “the youngest team, and possibly the one with the highest IQ in the competition, [using] their love of problem solving in hopes of outsmarting more experienced teams on the Spartan course.”

The team fell short in their quest to win $250,000 when they fell behind on the human ladder obstacle and couldn’t recover in time to win a spot in the three-team final.
