Leadership

Gain critical leadership skills to better prepare you for jobs in industry or academia, as well as a better understanding of your own leadership capabilities.

These skills will help you transition to the workforce and prepare you to become a lifelong learner, which is recognized as a critical competency for engineers.

Who is Eligible?

This micro-credential program is designed for UB School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) graduate students and alumni. However, UB graduate students and alumni from other disciplines are welcome to participate in the program. Interested students must:

  1. Be in good standing In the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences
  2. Attend the SEAS 360 Professionalism Orientation and submit an application with all required materials 
  3. Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0

Instruction Method: Hybrid

Badge Requirements

To receive a SEAS 360° Leadership badge, students must complete the following:

  • Attend and participate in 8 SEAS 360° leadership workshops
  • Complete a culminating experience and score at least 6 points. The culminating experience consists of the following:
    • Creating a resume​
    • Completing a LinkedIn profile​
    • Writing a personal reflection paper discussing your individual mission statement, personal goals, and leadership values.

Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded a UB–issued digital badge through Credly. Credly is a platform for creating, issuing and managing digital badges. If you have questions about using Credly please contact the Office of Micro-Credentials.
