Welcome to the Fall 2015 semester in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences! There has been palpable excitement on campus over the past two weeks as returning students have found their way back from vacations, from internships, and from jobs, all with great new experiences to share!
Our new students have materialized alongside them, many moving from across the state or the country or the world, with only a few belongings from home, to settle in for the semester. I am so glad that you have chosen to join us here at UB, and I look forward to meeting all of you over the coming months.
I also extend a warm welcome to our returning and new faculty and staff. I fully recognize all the hard work you have put into preparing for the new semester, and look forward to seeing many great outcomes unfold as the semester progresses. Your leadership, in matters large and small, provides the momentum for us to continuously improve in a myriad of ways.
Although we are a large and comprehensive school focused on academic excellence, it is the terrific sense of community in the departments and degree programs that distinguishes UB’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Your individual contributions to the whole are important and much valued.
Welcome all, and please enjoy the semester!
