Courtney Bentley, Graduate Student
Transportation Engineering

Where are you from?   Greene, NY

What made you choose UB?   I chose UB because of the good engineering program, the diversity of people and extracurricular activities, and the people I met when I visited the campus.

What do you like most about engineering at UB?   I love the CSEE department specifically because of the people and the friendliness of the professors and students.

What is your favorite place on campus?   Ketter Hall, because I spend so much time there.  I also love being outside by the lake  when the weather is nice.

What are you working on?   I'm focused on trying to get through my last semester and finish my thesis, which is about the effectiveness of high-visibility crosswalks in increasing pedestrian safety.

What else do you do?   I am working for Bergmann Associates, a consulting firm in downtown Buffalo in the transportation/traffic group.

What are you passionate about?   I love seeing the growth in Buffalo, and being a part of it through the projects that I work on. Other than that, I enjoy going to concerts and trying new restaurants...Buffalo has a lot of both.

What are your future plans?  I plan to stay in Buffalo and work at Bergmann full time when I graduate.
