Enhancing Your Undergraduate Experience

Many of our undergraduates look beyond the classroom to enchance their academic experience. They obtain real-world experience through internships and other experiential learning opportunities. Many also participate in engineering clubs, take classes abroad and get involved in undergraduate research.

Experiential learning is a process through which students develop knowledge, skills, and values from direct experiences outside a traditional academic setting. Experiential learning encompasses a variety of activities including internships, service learning, undergraduate research, study abroad, and other creative and professional work experiences.

EE has a variety of clubs, organizations and activities that enhance engineering education outside of the classroom. The diversity and number of organizations in the department reflect the wide range our students' professional interests.

Partnerships with top European universities allow EE students to pursue educational opportunities in other countries while maintaining their course of study and timeline to graduation. Participants in Study Abroad and International Programs may earn credits towards their UB degree while paying regular UB tuition.  Courses are taught in English by university faculty.

Some of the world’s most famous discoveries have been made through university research and students are an integral part. Students who engage in research are more likely to graduate or go on to graduate school, and have more successful careers after graduation.  As a Tier 1 research university, UB has a strong reputation for research and opportunities for students to participate.
