Dr. Biao Cheng, Director of Incubation, Microsoft Asia-Pacific Research and Development Group (ARD), is responsible for incubating new projects and landing new products in China. Dr. Cheng obtained his Ph.D. and Master degrees in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1996 and 1993 respectively. Prior to that, he obtained Master and Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Wuhan University in 1989 and 1986 respectively. After Ph.D. graduation, he had worked in the Silicon Valley in California, USA for 15 years, worked at two startup companies and spent 10 years at Oracle Headquarters managing the development of Business Intelligence products. Dr. Cheng went back to China in 2010 and joined Microsoft ARD. Prior to his current role, he had managed the development of Microsoft Office education and mobile products, Office Application Platforms as Group Engineering Manager.
