An article in WalletHub concerning which states in are most vulnerable to identity theft and fraud, and how to avoid being hacked quotes Shambhu Upadhyaya, UB computer science and engineering professor and director of UB's Center of Excellence in Information Systems Assurance Research and Education (CEISARE). He says people should “follow security best practice guidelines – use strong passwords, apply patches regularly, be wary of unrecognizable emails and do not open attachments if you are not sure about the source of the email.”
