An article on Innovators Magazine, a European-based science and technology publication, looks at research by Neeti Pokhriyal, a UB PhD candidate in computer science, that reports a new mapping technique that harnesses big data is being developed to transform the ability of governments and aid organizations to tackle extreme poverty.
“Despite much progress in recent decades, there are still more than 1 billion people worldwide lacking food, shelter and other basic human necessities,” she said.
