An article on Futurity reports on research by Neeti Pokhriyal, a UB PhD candidate in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, that uses a new mapping technique that harnesses big data to transform the ability of governments and aid organizations to tackle extreme poverty.
“Despite much progress in recent decades, there are still more than 1 billion people worldwide lacking food, shelter and other basic human necessities,” she said.
