During her undergraduate studies, Andrea (Kolhoff) Ruminski (B.S. CSEE ‘01) accepted an internship at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District. Upon completion of her degree, she was offered a full scholarship to remain at UB to complete her master’s degree. In 2003, she accepted a full-time position with the Corps as a Project Engineer for the Former Harshaw Chemical Company, a Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program project, investigating and remediating Manhattan Project legacy waste. She has since obtained her Professional Engineering license in New York State and moved on to work emergency planning and response with the Corps South Pacific Division office based out of San Francisco.
