Lingxiang Zhu Receives 2018 Chinese Governmental Award

Dr. Lingxiang Zhu, a former member of Dr. Haiqing Lin's research group, was selected to receive the 2018 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad.

Dr. Zhu graduated from UB in May of 2018 with a focus on membranes for gas separations. While pursuing a degree at UB, he received numerous outstanding awards such as 2018 NAMS Student Fellowship Award, Dean's Graduate Achievement Award, 2018 AIChE Separations Division Graduate Student Research Award, etc. Currently, Dr. Zhu is working at the National Energy Technology Laboratory of the United State Department of Energy.

The Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad was established by the China Scholarship Council in 2003, and it is considered to be the highest award given by the Chinese government to graduate students studying aboard. Recipients are chosen worldwide each year for their outstanding accomplishments in academia.
