Camps for K-12 Students

UB Engineering Design Camp

Interested in taking apart toys and other products to see how they work? How about using 3-D printers to make something?

Each summer, UB offers an Engineering Design Camp sponsored by Northrop Grumman, where participants:

  • “Tear down” products to learn what’s inside
  • Program and use robots
  • Design and build using 3-D printers
  • Explore advanced manufacturing through field trips and team-based activities

The camp is typically held on UB's North Campus. Activities are guided by faculty and students in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and each student receives a certificate at the completion of the program.

Who can attend

High school students entering grades 9-12 are eligible to apply for the camp. Students should have strong science and mathematical ability, and an interest in a career in STEM.

We are especially interested in students from groups that are underrepresented in STEM professions.
