Testing Center

You can take a variety of standardized tests and other exams at the Career Services Testing Center, which is open to UB students and the public. Testing is conducted throughout the year on weekdays and Saturdays; see information about each test for details.

Available Tests and Registration

Please refer to registration and payment instructions for each test below.

Note: for some exams, a payment link will be emailed to you separately in order to complete registration.


College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a series of standardized exams that assess college-level knowledge in different subject areas.

  1. Call 716-645-4624 to schedule your appointment. A payment link will be sent via email ($25 fee).
  2. Complete your exam purchase online ($85 fee).


Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized exam used by many graduate programs across various academic disciplines.


Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT) is an English language proficiency standardized test for non-native English speakers.


Miller Analogy Test (MAT) is a standardized graduate program admissions test requiring the solution of problems and analogies.

PRAXIS is a certification exam taken by individuals entering the teaching profession as part of the certification process.

Proctored Exams

Proctored Exams are associated with online or distance learning courses.

Request Testing Accommodations

If you have a learning or physical disability, which would prevent you from taking an exam under standard conditions, please notify the test center in advance of test to make necessary arrangements.

Photo ID Requirement

You must bring a valid (unexpired) state or government-issued photo identification that includes your signature (e.g. driver's license or passport).
